What you receive, and where the record lives

The two desks. What every call contains. When it reaches you. Why the full history sits in the app, not on this page.

Updated 6 September 2026 · Potoos Research Services

In short. There is no track record on this page, and the reason is below. You pick one of two desks when you sign up. Every call gives you an entry, targets, a stop-loss and the reasoning behind it. It reaches you the day before the market opens, not during it. Every call is stored in the Potoos app, dated and timestamped. The calls that went against us sit on the same screen as the ones that worked. At Potoos that record belongs to one named analyst. He is Vinoth Kumar S, SEBI registration INH000027380. No call in it is edited after the fact.

The two desks

You pick one when you sign up. Choose on how much of the trading day you really have. They are different jobs. Neither one is a lighter version of the other.

Intraday desk

Index options

Buy-side index option calls. The exit level is decided before you enter. This suits someone who can act around the market open.

Positional desk

Equity

NSE equity. You hold for weeks or months. You need no screen time and no derivatives.

What every call contains

The same structure every time, on both desks. We never send a bare instruction to buy something.

Entry
A range, not a single number, so you are not chasing a price that has already moved.
Targets
Staged, so you can decide how much to take off and when.
Stop-loss
Set before entry, never after. It is the level at which the idea is wrong.
Reasoning
Why this, why now. You should be able to disagree with it, which is only possible if it is written down.

A stop-loss is a trigger, not a guarantee. In a gap or a fast market, your actual fill can be worse than the level shown. No analyst can change that. What we control is the level itself. It is decided in advance and told to you. It is not improvised after the trade has moved.

When it reaches you

Calls are published in the app the day before the market opens. They do not come during the session. You read them when you have time. You place your orders and get on with your day. Nobody has to sit watching a phone for a message that may or may not arrive.

Where the record lives

Every call goes into the Potoos app and stays there. The app runs in your browser at web.potoosresearch.in. There is nothing to install.

  • Every call is kept. Nothing is quietly removed because it went the wrong way.
  • Losses appear beside gains. Same screen, same treatment.
  • Nothing is backfilled. A call carries the date it was published, not a later date that looks better.
  • Nothing is edited after the fact. Levels are not adjusted once a call is out.

Why there is no track record on this page

SEBI's advertisement code does not allow a registered Research Analyst to publish past performance, returns or accuracy figures in public material. That rule applies to us and to every other registered analyst. It is worth knowing when you compare one analyst against another.

So the record is not hidden. It sits where the people paying for it can read it in full, and in context. It is not cut down to a number on a landing page. You can check the registration itself before any of this matters. Here is how to do that on SEBI's own register.

Why do stock advisory services never show their losing calls?

Two very different reasons produce the same silence. Telling them apart is most of what a buyer needs to know.

The first reason is curation. A service that markets itself on screenshots controls what you see. The losing calls quietly disappear. The highlight reel is shown to you as the history. Nothing forces such a service to show you anything. That is exactly why what it shows you proves nothing.

The second reason is the law. A SEBI-registered Research Analyst may not publish past performance in public material at all, winners or losers. The advertisement code prohibits it. So on public pages, the compliant and the curated look the same. Neither one shows losing calls. The difference sits one layer down. It is whether a full record exists somewhere the author cannot rewrite.

That is the practice this page describes for our own service. Every call goes into the subscriber app and stays there, dated. The calls that went against us sit on the same screen as the ones that worked. Nothing is edited and nothing is backfilled. Subscribers see the losing calls in full, beside the gains. A record that leaves out its losses is not a record. So the question to put to any service, ours included, is not "show me your winners". It is "where do your losses live, and who can edit them?"

Common questions

Do I have to trade F&O?

No. The two desks are separate and you choose yours at signup. The positional equity desk never needs a derivative or screen time. SEBI published a study of individual traders in equity derivatives on 20 August 2026. It found 87.7% of them ended the year in the red. So this is a decision worth making with care.

Can I see the record before subscribing?

Not the call history. Publishing it would breach the advertisement code. Before you pay anything, you can check the registration itself, the fee cap that applies, and the grievance route. All of that is on public record.

Is there anything to install?

No. The Potoos app runs in your browser at web.potoosresearch.in. You sign up there and complete the risk profile SEBI requires. Then the calls appear in your account.

What happens when a call goes against me?

It will happen. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. The stop-loss is set before you enter. So the exit is decided in advance, not in the moment. The position size is meant to be one you can hold. The call stays in the record exactly as published.

Why do stock advisory services never show their losing calls?

There are two reasons. One is curating: they show you a highlight reel with the losers removed. The other is registration: the advertisement code bars a registered analyst from publishing any past performance publicly, losses and winners alike. The two look identical on a public page. So the real test sits behind it. Does a complete record exist that the author cannot edit? Ours does, in the subscriber app. Every call is kept and dated. Losses sit on the same screen as gains. Nothing is edited or backfilled after the fact.
